Start Here
Recruiting is not cookie cutter.
The right move depends on the coach, the program, your year and your level.
What Four Conversations Confirmed
Four coaches.
Four levels.
Different answers.
That is the point, not the problem.
Your Timeline Matters
A freshman and a senior should not run the same plan.
Neither should a developing varsity player and a proven starter.
Expect Different Opinions
Your own coaches may disagree.
Listen. Ask why. Then build a plan that fits your situation.

Weekly reel notes
- Makes the midseason and full season reels easier
- Share it now only when the film is good
- No fluff at the end and no weekly title page
- No circle for a QB. Circle other positions when needed
- Screen record when texting if a link adds another step

Section Two
Messaging
Coaches
Four Coaches. Four Answers.
How coaches prefer to hear from you
- Text when you have their number and they are actively recruiting you
- Stay in DMs when that is where the relationship already lives
- Some coaches want weekly clips
- Some coaches only want the midseason reel
Context. Context. Context.
Give the coach context
- Treat the message like a sales call or sales email
- Give them a reason you are reaching out today
- Do not send only: “Hey Coach, just following up”
Example“Hey Coach, you asked about my speed. I had two designed runs Friday. Here are the clips.”

Midseason
Highlights
Midseason Timing
Timing depends on your class
Seniors
- Get it out sooner
- Most divisions still recruit one class at a time
- Do not assume you are already too late
Underclassmen
- Do not rush a three game reel
- Wait one or two weeks if the film will be better
- Even with P4 interest, you are not signing right now
- Tell the coach you are waiting to add stronger film
Midseason Format
Midseason reel notes
- Use one title page
- Put your contact information on the title page
- Start the film right after the title page
- No fluff at the end
